REINSTATE!  FAIR TREATMENT!  JUSTICE!
Lt. Watkins Defense Fundraiser
We Support Lt. Brian Keith Watkins!
This defense fundraiser is in behalf of the many family & friends who are
concerned about the unfair treatment of Lt. Brian Keith Watkins and for
the support for him, his wife & children!
A Defense Fundraiser is created to support a family and help to offset the inflated cost of legal expenses that place a heavy financial strain on the family.
As the battle begins and court dates are drawn out for months and even years these legal fees go on forever.  These lingering expenses imposes a
heavy strain on the household and their day to day living expenses . A defense fund is set up for those who support the family in their time of need.  Any
donation amount is most appreciated by the family of Lt. Watkins! Legal fund is set up @ National City Bank. Please send donations to:

Thanks to all who support Lt. Watkins.  Our Breakfast fund raiser was a great
success. We appreciate and thank every one of you who gave your support!!!

The administrative hearing on Jan 23, was a success in many ways.  They were
not excepting any good offers on Lt. Watkins behalf, they also wanted to strip
him of rank and many other pay stipulations he has worked for in the past 20yrs.
Since they would not try the criminal case before the administrative case, in
order to keep what was due to him Lt. Watkins resigned.  This will now allow
him to keep his rank in the Fire Dept and to keep his full pay in retirement.  This
also leaves him open to seek other legal options on his behalf.  He left in good
standing and of no wrong doing.

Also over a week after the hearing the city sends a letter to Lt. Watkins to try
and breach the contract saying
they forgot to have Lt. Watkins Sign a release
during the hearing.  This is over a week after all parties signed and approved
the agreement.  They threatened him by saying, if he doesn't come in and sign it
they were going to strip him of unemployment, sick pay, his severance package
and many other things due to him! This is dirty on the City of Rockford's behalf!

There will be an information meeting for the legal fund for Lt. Watkins in march
day TBA.  We need all supporters who will be willing to volunteer their time to
help out.   State Street Church of Christ, 4141 West State St.

Bosses should have checked overtime, union chief says

The $15,000.00 in overtime wages(in six yrs.) that a local firefighter has been accused of stealing from the city should have been approved by the
department brass, says the president of local firefighters union.
According to E.J. Dilonardo  of international firefighters local 413, any overtime that was paid to Lt. Brian Watkins should have been approved(was
approved) in advance and checked and double-checked before pay checks were cut.
"The way it works is, firefighters on the company are offered as overtime positions need to be filled.  If 64 were supposed to be on duty today and someone
called in sick, someone is offered overtime to fill that spot," Dilonardo said.  "Its a matter of being on call and being called into work when you're on call,
which is what's expected of investigators, its expected to be overtime.  I cant arbitrarily go into work tomorrow and turn it in as overtime.
NOTHING HAPPENS
IN THO OVERTIME WORLD WITHOUT SOME ADMINISTRATOR APPROVING IT."  UNDER THOSE GUIDELINES, DILONARDO QUESTIONS WHY THE
CITY IS CHARGING WATKINS WITH A CRIME.

And all his thousand plus supporters want to know the same, WHY?
